Description:

We are looking for a Research Scientist to join the Fermentation Team within the Biotechnology R&T Group. Based in the purpose-built laboratories at the Daresbury Science Park, your role will be to support the development and scale-up of Croda’s rapidly expanding Biotechnology pipeline.

• PhD with experience in microbiology, biotechnology or chemical engineering discipline, or related discipline.
• Proven experience in developing scalable microbial cell culture processes, with hands‑on work in laboratory fermentations and ideally exposure to pilot‑scale or production‑scale environments.
• Technical background in strain engineering of yeast, including culture and genetic manipulation.
• You will have strong communication and networking skills.
• Hands-on experience using a wide range of microbial systems comprising of more than one bacterial and yeast processes.

• You will be expected to work closely with our internal production team(s) and our external toll partners to undertake efficient technology transfer to establish these processes at an industrial scale.
• You will also be expected to work closely with our commercial, IP, regulatory, application, and sales and marketing teams to ensure the processes are efficiently developed and established into commercial-scale manufacture.
