An established, forward-thinking accountancy firm is seeking an Audit Senior Associate to join its growing and mission-driven Not-for-Profit team. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified ACA or ACCA professional looking to work with purpose-led organisations while gaining exceptional experience and support as they progress towards full qualification.

This role is ideal for someone with a passion for the third sector, who is ready to take ownership of audits from planning through to completion, and lead a small team through fieldwork and finalisation.

The Opportunity

You’ll play a hands-on role in delivering high-quality audits for a diverse not-for-profit client base. As the senior on assignments, you will be responsible for the smooth delivery of audits, from planning and liaising with clients, to reviewing financial statements and managing junior team members. You’ll have regular exposure to audit managers and partners and be supported with structured mentoring, CPD opportunities, and technical development.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead audits across the not-for-profit portfolio, acting as the main point of contact for clients
• Plan engagements, prepare audit files, draft financial statements, management letters, and letters of representation
• Supervise teams of up to five, delegating work effectively, reviewing outputs, and providing on-the-job coaching
• Identify areas for improvement in clients’ systems and controls, and communicate recommendations clearly
• Stay up to date with audit and accounting standards, maintaining and documenting CPD
• Contribute to technical discussions and provide insights to the wider team
• Attend client sites where required and adapt to working hours in line with client needs

About You

• ACA or ACCA part-qualified (or equivalent)
• Experience leading audits from planning to completion, ideally in a not-for-profit setting
• Comfortable supervising junior team members and reviewing their work
• Strong understanding of UK audit standards and regulatory requirements
• Confident, proactive, and organised with a genuine interest in the not-for-profit sector
• Technically proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, and audit/accounting software (experience with data analytics tools a bonus)
• A team player with excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
