Description:

Sulzer, a leading global engineering company, is seeking a Senior Buyer to join its Leeds site. The role focuses on procurement excellence across high-value and specialised supply chains, supporting major engineering projects in industries such as Oil & Gas, Power Generation, and Renewable Energy.

The Senior Buyer will source specialised products, critical components, and expert services while leading supplier negotiations, orchestrating delivery schedules, and resolving supply chain issues. The role requires strategic thinking and commercial insight to optimise quality, cost, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead procurement activities for assigned products and services, aligned with budget, deadlines, and company policies

• Manage the full purchasing cycle from requisition to delivery expediting and issue resolution

• Build and maintain supplier partnerships for continuous improvement in quality, cost, delivery, and safety

• Conduct market benchmarking and negotiation to optimise competitiveness and cash flow

• Supervise a commodity team, ensuring smooth operations, accurate reporting, and prompt resolution of non-conformance

Requirements:

• CIPS qualification preferred or strong procurement experience in a relevant manufacturing sector

• Exceptional negotiation, influencing, and cost analysis skills

• Proven experience in supplier strategy and performance management

• Excellent communication, organisation, and project management abilities
