Halliday Marx have partnered with an exceptional and highly regarded professional services firm within the legal sector to hire a high-calibre Senior FP&A Analyst on a permanent basis. This is a rare opportunity to join a market-leading organisation in a commercially critical role, working closely with senior stakeholders and partners to drive performance, profitability and strategic decision-making.

This role will suit a commercially minded FP&A professional who must come from a legal or law-firm background. Experience within professional services is essential, with strong exposure to utilisation, recovery, chargeability, and partner-led environments.

Responsibilities

• Full ownership of the annual budgeting, forecasting and rolling reforecasting cycles
• Detailed analysis of utilisation, recovery rates, chargeability and productivity across fee earners
• In-depth revenue, margin and profitability analysis based on billed hours and fee income
• Business partnering with Partners, Directors and senior leadership to provide commercial insight, challenge performance, and support strategic decisions
• Headcount planning, cost modelling and capacity planning to support growth strategies
• Production of high-quality KPI dashboards and management reporting packs for partners and leadership teams
• Supporting pricing, resourcing and workflow planning decisions
• Continuous improvement of FP&A models, forecasting tools and reporting processes
• Ad-hoc commercial and strategic analysis to support business initiatives and investment decisions

Requirements (Non-Negotiable)

• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified
• Strong FP&A experience within a law firm or legal services environment (non-negotiable)
• Minimum of 2+ years’ post-qualified FP&A experience
• Proven experience working in a utilisation and chargeability-driven business model
• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior partners
