Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Due to continued business growth, a marine client in Aberdeen is looking to hire a Senior Geotechnical Engineer. The role involves supporting the Engineering/Marine departments in the planning and execution of offshore mooring systems. The Senior Geotechnical Engineer will carry out a range of geotechnical activities, including performing anchor FEED studies and managing the design and installation of offshore foundations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform design and analysis of offshore foundations, such as driven pile, suction caissons, DEAs, etc.

• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for offshore projects.

• Participate in R&D activities, including testing in the company’s in-house geotechnical testing facilities.

• Manage 3rd party contractors in the execution of the design, fabrication, and installation of offshore foundations.

• Coordinate the geotechnical engineering portion of projects, including liaising with external stakeholders.

• Work closely with Engineering, Marine, and Survey departments to ensure successful project execution.

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities.

The Successful Applicant:

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Offshore Engineering, or a related field.

• Understanding of site investigation techniques and their interpretation.

• Experience in performing geotechnical assessments, including offshore foundation design.

• Familiarity with offshore design codes and standards (e.g., DNV, API, ISO, ABS).

• Proficiency in writing technical reports and presentations.

• Experience working with classification societies and obtaining design approvals for offshore foundations.
