Description:
Ricardo is looking for a Senior Hydraulics Engineer (Transmissions) to join our team and lead the development of complex hydraulic systems for automotive and industrial applications. The role is based at the MTC in Leamington Spa and offers the opportunity to work on groundbreaking projects within the automotive propulsion and energy systems sectors.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop hydraulic systems and components from concept to detailed design.
- Define and support testing and validation of hydraulic components and sub-assemblies.
- Perform simulations and detailed analysis of hydraulic systems and component designs.
- Investigate and resolve problems within hydraulic systems.
- Collaborate with external customers and suppliers for system integration.
- Provide technical guidance to design teams for the integration of hydraulic systems into transmission designs.
- Develop internal guidelines and best practices for hydraulic systems engineering.
- Manage the development and validation of hydraulic components in both field and laboratory settings.
- Lead projects through the lifecycle, including issue identification and resolution.
- Some overseas and UK travel may be required.
Key Requirements:
- Strong understanding of hydraulic systems engineering, capable of specifying and designing complex systems.
- Experience in designing hydraulic systems for automotive, mobile, or industrial applications.
- Experience with electronic control systems interfacing with hydraulic systems.
- Ability to lead and manage hydraulic system projects and teams.
- Familiarity with systems engineering processes is beneficial.
- Experience with hydraulic system simulation tools (e.g., Amesim) is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to mentor and retain engineering talent.
