Senior Mechanical Engineer

Description:

Ceto Talent is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team on a 6-month contract, with potential for extension. This role offers the opportunity to be part of challenging water sector projects in the South East of the UK, including work on water and wastewater treatment plant designs.

The successful candidate will take on a technical design leadership role, ensuring high standards of engineering design and technical assurance throughout the project lifecycle. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful project outcomes in a remote capacity, with some required travel to Berkshire.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide mechanical design expertise for water infrastructure projects, particularly clean and wastewater treatment facilities

• Analyze equipment failures to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions

• Offer technical assurance and support project delivery teams to ensure optimal outcomes

• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet client specifications and project deadlines

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline

• At least 5 years of mechanical design experience, ideally in the water sector

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

• Experience with detailed mechanical designs for water and wastewater treatment infrastructure

• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is desirable, though not mandatory

Other Requirements:

• Ability to work remotely, with occasional travel to Berkshire

• Must have eligibility to work in the UK
