Description:
The Tyler-Parkes Partnership Ltd, one of the West Midlands’ largest independent planning consultancies approaching its 30th anniversary, is seeking an experienced Senior Town Planner to join their expanding team. With a diverse workload covering commercial, residential, and public sector projects, this role offers the opportunity to work on planning appraisals, applications, appeals, enforcement cases, and development plans across the Greater Midlands area.
The successful candidate will manage projects from concept to completion, often in collaboration with in-house architectural staff, ensuring a seamless process from initial design to securing permissions. You will lead on complex planning schemes, liaise with a wide range of stakeholders including developers, consultants, and planning officers, and represent the company in planning committees, hearings, and public inquiries.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a portfolio of planning projects across varying sectors.
Negotiate with stakeholders to achieve optimal planning outcomes.
Prepare planning support statements, appeal submissions, and other documentation.
Present cases at planning committees and represent clients in hearings or inquiries.
Provide policy document representations for development plans.
Identify and develop new business opportunities.
Requirements:
Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI).
Full UK driving licence and access to a car for site visits.
Strong track record of delivering projects across various scales and sectors.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
