Senior Project Engineer

ECS Resource Group is recruiting on behalf of a prominent Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO), which is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join their team in Loughborough. This fully on-site role offers a rare opportunity to lead technically complex, high-value capital engineering projects within a GMP-compliant pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

This is a high-impact role where you will play a critical part in shaping innovative engineering solutions that directly support life-saving products. The position may involve occasional travel to other UK or international sites.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the full lifecycle of capital engineering projects, from project scoping to commissioning and final handover.

• Manage commissioning and validation activities including FAT/SAT, URS, IQ/OQ.

• Coordinate and build cross-functional project teams across engineering and operational departments.

• Ensure strict compliance with GMP, health and safety regulations, and all other quality and regulatory standards.

• Oversee procurement strategies, vendor selection, budget control, and schedule management.

• Act as a liaison for project stakeholders and provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers across multiple locations.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering project delivery, with at least 3 years in a regulated industry such as pharmaceutical, food, or FMCG.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards it is preferred.

• Proven track record of leading complex capital projects within a manufacturing or process environment.

• Deep knowledge of engineering design, construction practices, regulatory compliance, and procurement.

• Proficiency with project management software such as Microsoft Project.

• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
