Are you an experienced Senior Project Planner looking to transition into the nuclear sector? This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Sizewell C, a prestigious new nuclear power station project on the East Suffolk coast. Sizewell C will be a significant Net-Zero project, supplying low-carbon electricity to 6 million homes.
Laing O'Rourke is seeking a Senior Project Planner to oversee the Enabling Works and Earthworks scope. This includes the design, planning, procurement, and execution of key early-stage civil engineering works such as:
- SSSI Crossing
- Ground improvements
- Dewatering
- Diaphragm walls
- Sea defence
- Marine Bulk Import Facility (MBIF)
- Beach Landing Facility (BLF)
- Construction drainage outfall
- Bulk earthworks
As a Senior Project Planner, you will play a crucial role in developing, managing, and monitoring project programs, ensuring compliance with project requirements, and providing strategic and commercial advice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead planning and coordination processes.
- Implement and maintain the Project Business Plan requirements.
- Develop a logical sequence of construction activities for optimal efficiency.
- Monitor performance, report on progress, and recommend improvements.
- Communicate construction strategies and updates to the project team.
- Provide leadership, support, and training to team members.
- Coordinate project timelines with stakeholders, partners, and supply chains.
- Represent the project in all stakeholder interactions.
- Develop and maintain contract programs and schedules.
- Provide strategic programs for tendering, procurement, design, and construction.
- Ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Liaise with clients and key stakeholders.
- Track and report on workforce efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- CIOB Membership (preferred).
- Experience leading planning and controls for medium-to-high complexity projects.
- Strong program maintenance and time management skills.
- Ability to implement robust project controls, reporting, and forecasting.
