Senior Quantity Surveyor

Description:

Join a landmark project delivering clean, low-carbon energy to 6 million homes for the next 60 years with Sizewell C — a 3.2 GW nuclear power station on the Suffolk coast. This is part of the Civil Works Alliance, a joint venture including Balfour Beatty, Bouygues Travaux Publics, and Laing O’Rourke.

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will:

• Manage all costs related to building and civil engineering projects from initial calculations to final accounts.

• Minimize project costs while maintaining required standards and quality.

• Lead and manage a small team of commercial staff, mentoring less experienced members toward professional qualifications.

• Deliver commercial reporting, cost control, risk/opportunity management, tender review, and contract management.

• Use independent judgment and leadership skills to influence project outcomes and drive innovation in delivery, health and safety, and operations.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

• BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.

• Chartered or working towards chartered membership of RICS, ICES, or CIOB.

Desirable Skills and Attributes:

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Leadership qualities and role model behavior.

• Focus on achieving results and business/customer awareness.

• Experience in mentoring and staff development with formal management qualification (e.g., ILM) preferred.

• Proven track record managing and leading large teams.

• Commitment to professional development and involvement in the surveying/construction community.
