The Senior Tax Accountant Role
An expanding tax department presents an opportunity for a Senior Tax Accountant. Reporting to the Tax Manager, the Senior Tax Accountant will be jointly responsible as an individual contributor for overseeing the company’s EMEA and APAC direct tax processes, compliance and initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on individual to make a long-term impact within the organization.

- Review or assist with EMEA and APAC corporate tax returns prepared by external advisors
- Perform research as required to ensure accuracy of tax filings
- Review or assist with the preparation of the annual and quarterly worldwide U.S. GAAP tax provision
- Communicate with tax authorities in a timely manner regarding any communications or notices received
- Manage EMEA and APAC direct tax payments
- Support the accounting team in the Shared Services Center during audit procedures for local country GAAP financials in the EMEA and APAC region
- Active communication and cooperation with the accounting, revenue and accounts payable teams in the Shared Services Center and the IT team
- Execute direct tax controls needed for EMEA and APAC compliance
- Take responsibility and ownership of relationships at appropriate levels in the organization
- Oversee and assume ownership of the direct tax processes in EMEA and APAC including compliance with tax filing deadlines and tax calendar
- Support the monitoring of global and local Pillar II legislative developments and help translate them into practical data and process requirements
- Support the gathering, validation, and analysis of financial and tax data required for Pillar II calculations and reporting
- Assist in maintaining transfer pricing policy and documentation including coordinating with external advisor
- Support implementing the medium and long-term global direct tax strategy and objectives
- Assist Tax Manager and VP of Tax in tax planning initiatives and special projects
- Provide analysis of specific direct tax impacts of certain company transactions
- Coordinate and support tax audit-responses
- Maintain technical proficiency by keeping informed of tax-technical developments, industry trends and direct tax legislative changes including communicating those changes to key stakeholders and ensuring compliance
- Proactively identify, recommend, and implement process and tax systems improvements for direct taxes, including automation opportunities
- Responsible for identifying and implementing direct tax-related (optimization) opportunities and medium and long term global direct tax strategies and objectives

We’re Looking For a Teammate With
- 3+ years of global direct tax experience (EMEA and APAC regions)
- Fluent understanding of direct tax and compliance issues, and related accounting processes
- Working knowledge in the management of direct tax audit processes
- Local country GAAP and US GAAP knowledge is an asset
- Experience in tax control issues and process redesign to facilitate compliance with internal control requirements
- Previous experience in a multinational environment including coordinating the efforts of and liasing with team members in other countries required
- Big Four experience preferred
- Experience with tax technology and ERP systems (e.g., Avalara, NetSuite).
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (emphasis of Excel).
- Experience in process improvement and automation initiatives within tax compliance.
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting preferred
- Master degree in Taxation preferred
