Senior Town Planner

This opportunity is ideal for a commercially-minded planning professional looking to lead key initiatives in land promotion, strategic planning, and development delivery across Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, and Bedfordshire.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the planning process across both strategic and short-term residential-led developments

• Deliver planning strategies for unlocking land and securing permissions

• Prepare, manage, and submit planning applications across multiple development phases

• Actively engage with local planning authorities, community groups, and stakeholders

• Advise internal Land & Development teams on planning risks, opportunities, and strategies

• Influence and monitor Local Plans, SHLAAs, and relevant policy frameworks

• Manage appeals, public inquiries, and planning committee presentations as needed

• Coordinate with external consultants, legal, technical, and design teams to ensure seamless planning progression

• Represent the company at public exhibitions, consultation events, and formal meetings

• Ensure full compliance with UK planning laws while aligning projects with business goals

Requirements:

• Relevant degree in town planning or similar field

• Full MRTPI (Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute) accreditation

• At least 5 years’ relevant planning experience

• Strong project leadership and stakeholder engagement skills

• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, including experience writing committee reports

• Commercial acumen and an ability to influence decisions across teams and authorities

• Valid UK driving license with flexibility to travel regionally
