Senior Web Strategist

Description:

The Website Strategy Manager functions as a center of excellence for website strategy at Elastic. You will define how navigation, information architecture, conversion paths, CTAs, and intent capture work together across Elastic.co to support diverse audiences and use cases.

This role focuses on why the website works the way it does, for whom, and to what outcome—providing strategic direction that guides execution across teams.

What You Will Be Doing: Website Strategy Ownership

  • Define and own Elastic’s website strategy, with a focus on how structure, journeys, and intent capture operate across the site.
  • Establish and maintain Elastic’s conversion architecture, including how pages, CTAs, offers, and flows align by audience, intent, and stage.
  • Own the global CTA strategy, including standards for primary and secondary CTAs, escalation paths, and consistency across surfaces.
  • Define principles for navigation, information architecture, and taxonomy.
  • Establish standards for tagging, taxonomy, and content classification to support personalization, measurement, and discovery.

Cross-Functional Strategy & Leadership

  • Lead cross-functional website initiatives requiring coordination across Content, UX, SEO, Analytics, Demand, and Product Marketing.
  • Translate business goals and user needs into clear strategic frameworks that teams can execute against.
  • Partner closely with UX Research and Design to ensure site structure and journeys are grounded in user understanding and behavior.
  • Influence decisions across teams without direct authority through strong strategic narratives and evidence-based reasoning.

Conversion, Journeys, & Outcomes

  • Define how the website supports multiple audiences and buying roles, including developers, technical leaders, and business decision-makers.
  • Identify systemic friction in comprehension, positioning, and next-step clarity, and propose structural solutions.
  • Establish website-level success metrics beyond page-level conversion, such as understanding, intent progression, and journey health.
  • Ensure the website balances education, trust-building, and action to support long-term growth.

Partnership with Website Product Management

  • Act as a strategic counterpart to Website Product Managers by defining why and for whom work should be prioritized.
  • Provide strategic inputs that inform website roadmaps.

What You Bring:

  • 8+ years of experience in website strategy, digital strategy, UX strategy, growth, or related subject areas.
  • Proven track record designing and operationalizing scalable systems for large, complex websites.
  • Deep understanding of information architecture, navigation design, conversion strategy, and user journeys in B2B environments.
  • Experience leading ambiguous, cross-functional initiatives through influence rather than direct authority.
  • Strong systems thinking skills, with the ability to translate complexity into clear frameworks and principles.
  • Comfort using qualitative and quantitative signals to inform strategic decisions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • Experience working in distributed, global organizations.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience working on developer-focused or technical products.
  • Familiarity with personalization, experimentation, or intent-based segmentation.
  • Background in UX research, CRO, or analytics-driven optimization.
  • Experience partnering closely with SEO, content strategy, or product marketing teams.
