Shop Manager

Description:

Cats Protection, the UK’s largest cat welfare charity, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Shop Manager to join their retail team in Keighley. With over 80 charity shops nationwide, Cats Protection combines passion, dedication, and community engagement to make life better for cats and those who care for them.

As Shop Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day operational management of the shop, ensuring performance, profitability, and team development. You will lead and coach a team of employees and volunteers, driving shop income, managing expenditures, and achieving operating profit targets while embodying the values and behaviours of the charity. Acting as a brand ambassador, you will uphold Cats Protection’s mission and represent the organization positively in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, manage, and develop a team of employees and volunteers to deliver excellent performance.

• Ensure safe and effective daily operational management of the shop.

• Deliver income, expenditure, and profit budgets as per retail performance framework.

• Act as a role model and ambassador for Cats Protection’s values and mission.

• Support wider organizational goals by promoting the charity and engaging with the local community.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a retail environment.

• Previous experience of line managing a team and fostering a collaborative culture.

• Understanding of sales targets, budgets, and commercial awareness.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

• Balance between commercial drive and the unique needs of a charitable organization.
