Sr. Software Engineer

Description:

CrowdStrike, a global leader in cybersecurity, is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer, SDET - Windows to enhance our Windows Sensor Team within the Detections Platform Group. This team plays a critical role in CrowdStrike’s mission to “Stop Breaches” by improving visibility, accelerating detections, and staying ahead of cyber threats.

As an SDET, you will focus on developing test frameworks, automating testing processes, and ensuring system reliability across large-scale distributed environments. You will collaborate with engineers working on low-level Windows components, kernel development, and endpoint security solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

✅ Develop test frameworks and automation for developer use
✅ Write integration and end-to-end tests to validate system performance
✅ Automate test processes for speed, reproducibility, and scalability
✅ Enhance Windows endpoint sensor frameworks interacting with the OS, file system, and registry
✅ Participate in reproducing and diagnosing customer-reported issues
✅ Collaborate with engineers on component design and implementation
✅ Coach developers on test development, coverage, and risk assessment
✅ Utilize debugging tools such as Windbg to diagnose system failures
✅ Write detailed bug reports and validate fixes with the team

Candidate Requirements:

✔ Strong programming skills in C or C++ for Windows kernel and low-level development
✔ Experience with Windows internals, debugging tools (Windbg), and system architecture
✔ Expertise in CI/CD frameworks, automated testing, and performance profiling
✔ Understanding of OS services, microservice architectures, and distributed systems
✔ Knowledge of software design principles, data structures, and algorithms
✔ Effective communication and collaboration skills in a remote work environment
✔ Passion for cybersecurity and a desire to improve software reliability

Preferred Qualifications (Bonus Points):

🔹 Experience with Windows Kernel development and debugging
🔹 Familiarity with event processing systems and embedded databases (RocksDB, LSM)
🔹 Expertise in performance profiling tools (WPA, ETW, Xperf)
🔹 Experience with pytest, Jenkins, or Bitbucket in a SaaS environment
🔹 Understanding of JSON data modeling and automation tools
