NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership (NWSSP) is seeking a Stores Operative / HGV Driver to join their Health Courier Service based in Bridgend, supporting logistics operations across South Wales. This fixed-term, full-time post covers a 3-month period as absence cover and offers the opportunity to contribute to vital NHS delivery services.

As a key member of the Health Courier Service, you will handle the distribution and replenishment of NHS stock, medical consumables, and documents. Your primary responsibilities include operating as a Stores Operative at logistics centers and managing HGV transport of high-priority items such as pathology samples, blood products, mail, records, and general NHS stock across hospitals, GP practices, dental surgeries, pharmacies, and opticians.

Key Duties:

• Drive HGV vehicles (Cat C license required) across NHS Wales sites.

• Manage stock operations within logistics centers and depots.

• Ensure compliance with safety, GMP, and ADR transportation regulations.

• Provide customer-focused delivery services to NHS facilities.

• Uphold secure handling and distribution procedures for medical and confidential materials.

Essential Criteria:

• Full UK driving license including HGV Cat C.

• Valid Driver CPC qualification.

• Experience handling deliveries, customer interaction, and good geographical knowledge of the South Wales region.

• Awareness of moving and handling techniques and health and safety standards.

Desirable Criteria:

• ADR awareness.

• Basic vehicle maintenance skills.

• Ability to speak Welsh.
