Description:
Bristol Waste Company is seeking a Street Cleansing Operative to help keep Bristol and the surrounding areas clean, safe, and sustainable. The role involves manually sweeping, litter picking, and maintaining allocated routes to agreed standards while adhering to all health and safety guidelines. This is a physical, outdoor role suitable for candidates who enjoy active work in a team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Sweep, litter pick, empty bins, remove weeds, and maintain cleanliness along designated routes.
Walk up to four miles daily and lift/carry refuse sacks up to 10kg; push/pull wheelie bins up to 35kg.
Ensure all tasks are completed within required timescales and to BWC standards.
Maintain professional conduct while interacting with the public and colleagues.
Use and maintain equipment safely and according to company procedures.
Participate in operational rotas as required.
Skills Required:
Good communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Technical knowledge of equipment and safe usage.
Physically fit for outdoor work and lifting requirements.
Desirable Requirements:
Full UK driving licence.
