The Early Careers Talent Specialist will manage and deliver early careers talent initiatives, including apprenticeship and Year in Industry programmes. The role involves collaborating with schools, colleges, universities, and STEM ambassadors to attract diverse talent, overseeing recruitment, onboarding, and pastoral care for early career associates, and supporting their development and progression.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full responsibility for delivering the early careers 2025/26 plan, including recruitment, onboarding, and pastoral care of early careers associates

  • Partner with apprentice managers to support recruitment, onboarding, course guidance, progression, and transition to permanent roles

  • Organize apprentice open evenings, assessment centres, and recruitment activities

  • Liaise with training providers and managers to ensure progress and meaningful projects for apprentices

  • Chair the early careers steering committee for programme governance

  • Design and deliver outreach activities with local schools and STEM ambassadors (careers fairs, mentoring, competitions, networking)

  • Coordinate work experience placements and ensure positive learning experiences for students

  • Manage wage changes, bonuses, department expenditure, and levy fund with finance team support

  • Monitor and evaluate programmes using talent metrics

  • Serve as a key contact for internal and external early careers enquiries

Skills/Requirements:

  • Passion for developing early careers talent

  • Experience in early careers programmes, education, or learning and development

  • HR or recruitment experience beneficial

  • Experience working with young people

  • Strong project management skills

  • Proven relationship-building skills with internal and external partners

  • Proactive, able to work independently with strong organisational skills

  • Team player with excellent attention to detail

  • Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent
