Derby College Group is seeking a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to provide dedicated support for English classes for our Routes Provision at our Roundhouse campus.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support the delivery of high-quality English lessons for post-16 learners for our Routes provision Working closely with teaching staff, you’ll provide in-class support, deliver small group activities, and help students build confidence in reading, writing, and communication. Your role will be key in ensuring learners stay engaged and achieve their English qualifications.


About You

You’ll have a solid understanding of how to support learning and personal development, with experience working with post-16 students and knowledge of GCSE and Functional Skills English. A team player with strategies to engage learners who may be disengaged, you’ll bring excellent communication skills and a proactive approach. A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) is essential, and ideally, you’ll hold HLTA status.
