Description:

Laing O’Rourke, a global leader in construction and innovation, is seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join its Precast Technical Solutions (PTS) team at Explore Industrial Park. This is a high-impact, full-time role offering the chance to shape modern methods of construction by delivering cutting-edge Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) and precast concrete solutions for major infrastructure and building projects across the UK.

The successful candidate will serve as a technical leader in the design, handling, and installation of bespoke precast components, working closely with manufacturing and project delivery teams to ensure safety, efficiency, and performance from feasibility through to project completion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead technical input for bespoke precast concrete design and installation

• Collaborate with project, design, and manufacturing teams to optimize DfMA practices

• Drive early-stage feasibility and influence project outcomes with product-led engineering

• Work with the supply chain to ensure technically sound and efficient solutions

• Actively promote innovation, technical robustness, and safety in construction

Requirements:

• A degree in structural or civil engineering with significant experience in design, detailing, and DfMA

• Demonstrated ability to convert complex design requirements into manufacturable solutions

• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder communication skills with influence at all levels

• Chartered engineer status or currently pursuing chartership is preferred
