Technical Recruiter

We’re hiring two Technical Recruiters to join Cabana in Reading: one Associate and one Senior.

Cabana places exceptional software engineers at high-growth US startups, mostly Series A–B. We work like a sports agency, not a volume desk: building long-term relationships with strong engineers, understanding what they want next and making introductions that work for both sides.

You might already recruit for the US tech market, or be earlier in your career and keen to learn it. Either way, we value thoughtful sourcing and strong candidate relationships over activity for activity’s sake.

What you’ll do

• Source and engage strong engineers across backend, infrastructure, ML, frontend and forward-deployed engineering through LinkedIn, GitHub, X, referrals and AI sourcing tools
• Write sharp, personal outreach that starts conversations with engineers who aren’t actively looking
• Get to know candidates properly: their strengths, motivations, compensation expectations and what they want next
• Assess fit honestly, including whether an early-stage environment suits them
• Prepare candidates for interviews and keep them clearly and consistently updated
• Help manage offers and closing with candidates and hiring managers

What we’re looking for

• Associate: Typically 0–2 years of recruiting experience, or a strong move from sales. You’ll build your sourcing, candidate assessment and relationship-management skills with guidance
• Senior: Typically 2+ years in agency tech recruitment, ideally with US startup exposure. You’ll be comfortable independently managing candidate relationships and recruitment processes from sourcing through to offer
• Curiosity about technology and what makes a great engineering team
• An eye for connections between people, their experience and where they might thrive next and the ability to remember them when the right opportunity appears
• Comfortable using AI to improve research, sourcing and day-to-day workflows, while checking outputs, protecting candidate information and keeping outreach personal
• Commercial drive and motivation to build long-term relationships that lead to placements
• Availability to work UK afternoons and evenings to overlap with US clients
