Technology Vendor Management Lead

 

Description:

We are seeking an experienced Technology Vendor Management Lead to join the Finance team. This role will be accountable for overseeing a complex ecosystem of technology vendors, including a primary strategic IT partner and multiple sub-vendors providing contractor, time and materials, and outcome-based services.

You will play a critical role in managing an annual committed spend of approximately £25 million, ensuring commercial value, compliance, and operational efficiency. They will be expected to bring discipline and structure to an environment with significant complexity, variable contract frameworks, and historic process gaps.

This role partners closely with Finance, Procurement, Technology Leadership, Legal, and senior stakeholders across the UK and India.

This role is a hybrid position where you will work from Aptia office in London as well as from your home address.

What you'll be doing

 

  • Lead the end-to-end management of the organisation’s IT vendor landscape, including the main strategic vendor and multiple sub-vendors.
  • Establish robust governance frameworks, ensuring accountability, SLA adherence, KPI reporting, and issue/escalation management.
  • Maintain strong relationships with onshore (UK) and offshore (India) delivery partners, ensuring alignment on commercial terms, delivery outcomes, and performance standards.
  • Develop vendor scorecards and performance insights to support senior decision making
  • Own the commercial oversight of all technology related contracts, including time & materials, outcome based, and hybrid commercial structures.
  • Analyse and interpret complex contract architectures, rate cards, pricing models, change control mechanisms, and incentive structures
  • Support Finance leadership in budgeting, accruals, variance analysis, and cost modelling for vendor related spend.
  • Implement strong financial controls, ensuring invoices, purchase orders, and payment terms are managed accurately and efficiently.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to create scalable, efficient, and repeatable frameworks for procurement and vendor oversight.
  • Support internal audit, external audit, and PE reporting requirements related to technology spend and third party risk.

 

Here's what we're looking for:

 

  • Experience (minimum 10 years) in vendor management, commercial management, finance, or procurement within technology heavy environments.
  • Experience operating within the financial services sector.
  • Proven expertise managing complex IT contracts, including outcome based and time and materials structures.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing high value, multivendor ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate across geographies, particularly UK onshore and India offshore delivery models.
  • Deep understanding of contractual terms, rate cards, change control processes, SOW frameworks, and commercial risk considerations.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to build financial models, scenario plans, and spend forecasts.
  • Experience in PE backed or fast paced, high growth environments with significant transformation demands.
  • Professional qualifications in Finance (e.g., CIMA, ACCA), Procurement (CIPS), or Contract Management (IACCM).
