Ramsay Health Care UK is seeking an experienced and dynamic Theatre Manager to join its highly respected surgical team, overseeing operations at Euxton Hall Hospital and Buckshaw Hospital in Chorley. This leadership role offers the opportunity to provide strategic direction, operational oversight, and clinical excellence within a state-of-the-art healthcare environment.

As the Theatre Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading a multi-disciplinary team to deliver exceptional perioperative care. You will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of clinical performance, patient safety, and operational efficiency while fostering a collaborative and supportive work culture that empowers your staff to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong clinical and operational leadership to a multi-disciplinary theatre team, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations across both Euxton Hall and Buckshaw Hospitals.

  • Maintain high standards of patient safety and care, ensuring all perioperative services comply with clinical governance and regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate effectively with consultants, senior management, and healthcare professionals, building strong relationships to enhance service delivery.

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the theatre staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous professional development.

  • Oversee resource allocation, theatre scheduling, and workforce planning to ensure optimal patient flow and utilisation of facilities.

  • Support hospital initiatives, service expansions, and quality improvement programs.

  • Drive innovation and best practices in surgical procedures and patient care pathways.

  • Monitor performance metrics, implement corrective actions, and report on departmental outcomes.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Registered clinical practitioner with an appropriate governing body (NMC or HCPC).

  • Substantial experience managing a busy theatre environment within an acute hospital or surgical centre.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and lead a diverse team.

  • Experience in teaching, assessment, and the ability to support staff development initiatives.

  • Current ILS (Immediate Life Support) or ALS (Advanced Life Support) certification preferred.

  • Professional management qualification or equivalent leadership training is advantageous.

  • Excellent organisational, analytical, and decision-making abilities.

  • Commitment to patient safety, clinical quality, and service excellence.
