Trainee Logistics Coordinator

Description:

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking individual to join our growing operations team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a school leaver, college leaver or someone at the beginning of their career who wants to develop into a skilled logistics professional.

You don’t need previous logistics experience—we’ll teach you everything you need to know. What we’re looking for is someone with a great attitude, a willingness to learn and the motivation to build a long-term career.

As a Trainee Logistics Coordinator, you’ll work alongside our experienced Logistics Manager and wider operations team, learning every aspect of warehouse operations, stock management, shipping and logistics.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a hands-on role where you’ll learn the business from the ground up.

During your first couple of years, you’ll be expected to become involved in the day-to-day operation of our warehouse as well as learning the systems and processes that sit behind it.

No two days are the same. One morning you could be unloading a shipping container, checking and counting incoming stock or labelling products. In the afternoon you may be preparing customer orders, carrying out quality checks, learning our Warehouse Management System (WMS) or assisting with shipping documentation.

We believe the best logistics professionals understand every part of the operation. That’s why we invest in teaching our trainees the fundamentals before progressing them into more senior responsibilities.

If you’re prepared to work hard, get stuck in and learn, we’ll provide the training and support to help you build a rewarding career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with unloading shipping containers.
  • Count, check and receive incoming deliveries.
  • Label products and prepare customer orders.
  • Carry out quality control checks to ensure products meet our standards.
  • Assist with stock takes and inventory management.
  • Learn and use our Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Help prepare shipments and logistics documentation.
  • Organise warehouse stock and maintain a clean, safe and efficient working environment.
  • Support the Logistics Manager with day-to-day operational activities.
  • Assist the wider management team with general business and operational tasks as required.
  • Carry out a variety of practical warehouse duties and administrative tasks that help keep the business running efficiently.

ABOUT YOU:

We’re looking for attitude and potential rather than experience.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Excellent work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • A genuine desire to learn and develop.
  • Good spoken and written English.
  • A good standard of numeracy and attention to detail.
  • Basic IT skills and confidence using computers.
  • The ability to work well as part of a team.
  • A practical approach and willingness to roll up your sleeves.
  • The motivation to carry out both basic and more advanced tasks as you develop.
  • Reliability, punctuality and pride in your work.
