Transport Manager

MCS Group, a leading specialist recruitment consultancy, is recruiting for a Transport Manager on behalf of a well-established manufacturing company in Mallusk, Co. Antrim. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced transport professional to take ownership of a busy and dynamic transport operation, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and exceptional service delivery.

The role involves leading the transport function, overseeing fleet compliance, driver management, and strategic route planning to maintain a safe, cost-effective, and customer-focused service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily transport operations, ensuring full compliance with legal and statutory obligations.

• Lead, manage, and support the transport team to achieve departmental and organizational goals.

• Monitor driver performance, CPC compliance, training, and tachograph data.

• Plan and optimize distribution routes to maximize efficiency and meet customer demands.

• Manage vehicle maintenance schedules, inspections, and operator’s licence compliance.

• Analyse KPIs, reports, and performance data to drive improvements in cost control, safety, and customer satisfaction.

• Build strong relationships with senior management, internal teams, and external clients.

Candidate Requirements:

• Proven track record in a transport management or supervisory role within a fast-paced environment.

• Strong leadership, team management, and motivational skills.

• In-depth knowledge of transport legislation, compliance, and safety standards.

• Experience in route planning, fleet oversight, driver management, and KPI monitoring.

• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Proactive and results-driven approach with a focus on safety, compliance, and efficiency.

• HGV Licence and CPC qualifications are highly desirable.
