Ramsay Health Care UK is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Ward Manager to join the inpatient nursing team at Oaks Hospital in Colchester. This is a full-time, on-site leadership opportunity to guide and inspire a team in delivering safe, high-quality patient care within one of the UK’s most respected independent healthcare providers.

About the Role:

As a Ward Manager, you will be a vital part of the hospital’s leadership team, responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the ward. You will be expected to deliver excellence in patient care, maintain clinical governance standards, and lead your team through continuous improvement and transformational healthcare practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the operational management of the ward to ensure high standards of clinical care

• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team, ensuring a patient-focused culture of safety, dignity, and respect

• Manage staff rotas efficiently to maintain service coverage

• Ensure full compliance with CQC standards and Ramsay Health Care’s policies

• Promote infection prevention and safeguarding best practices

• Engage in change management and service transformation initiatives

• Collaborate with the wider hospital team to enhance patient experiences and outcomes

What You’ll Bring:

• Active NMC registration with full compliance

• Proven background as a Ward Nurse and previous experience in clinical supervision or leadership

• Excellent understanding of clinical governance, infection control, and safeguarding protocols

• Strong communication and decision-making abilities

• Experience with rostering systems and workforce management

• Enthusiastic, flexible, and adaptable team leader
