Advanced Social Work Practitioner

Description:

Nottinghamshire County Council is seeking a dynamic Advanced Social Work Practitioner to join the Bassetlaw Social Work Community Team. This permanent, part-time role focuses on leading practice, supporting team managers in implementing change, and embedding new ways of working in social care. The post involves managing a small, complex caseload, supervising and mentoring staff, and acting as a safeguarding manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop as a practice lead to implement change and embed innovative social work practices

• Enable integrated working with partners and promote independence through reablement and enablement approaches

• Supervise and mentor staff within the team

• Manage a small complex caseload with mixed priority work

• Safeguard vulnerable adults and act as a safeguarding manager for supervisees

• Apply strength-based approaches promoting choice, control, personalisation, and self-directed support

• Collaborate with Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, and Community Care Officers in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications & Skills:

• Social Work Qualification and registration with Social Work England

• Approved Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP), Best Interests Assessor (BIA), or Practice Educator (Level 2)

• Knowledge and experience of safeguarding adults within multi-agency procedures

• Experience in staff supervision, training, and development

• Full driver’s licence and use of a car for work (taxi service available for disabled employees)
