Description:
Pegasus Group is offering an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Transport Planner to join its Bristol-based team. This position is ideal for individuals looking to earn a recognised Level 6 degree in Transport Planning while gaining practical experience in a leading development consultancy known for innovation and excellence.
As an apprentice, you'll be part of a supportive and structured training environment, combining academic learning with hands-on work on real-world projects. You'll contribute to a wide array of transport and infrastructure initiatives, gaining skills in areas such as transport assessments, access strategy, and junction modelling.
Support the preparation of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, and Travel Plans.
Assist in junction modelling, AutoCAD design, swept path analyses, and parking/access strategies.
Conduct research on planning policy, including NPPF, DfT Transport Assessment guidelines, and Manual for Streets.
Gain experience with specialist software including TRICS, AutoCAD, Junction9, Arcady, Picady, and Linsig.
Prepare and present findings; attend client and stakeholder meetings.
Maintain clear records and assist with report writing under the supervision of experienced team members.
Programme: Transport Planner Degree Apprenticeship (Level 6)
Provider: Northeastern University London
Duration: 36–39 months (3 years)
Delivery: One day a week online, with a minimum of one annual two-week block in London (first year in-person, second year online).
Outcome: Integrated Transport Planner Degree upon completion
Academic:
A-Levels: Minimum grades C,C,C in subjects such as Maths, Geography, or IT
OR a Degree (1st, 2:1 or 2:2) in Geography, Planning, Engineering, or Maths
Skills:
Excellent communication and analytical skills
Detail-oriented with strong organisational capabilities
Confident in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
Strong report writing and presentation abilities
Proactive and able to work independently
Desirable:
Understanding of transport planning reports and related guidance
Familiarity with S106 agreements and sustainability policies
Prior experience in consultancy (preferred but not essential)
