Associate Transport Modeller
As a senior member of the ITP Advisory Group, you will lead complex transport modelling and strategy commissions, working closely with clients, multidisciplinary teams and international colleagues. You will be instrumental in developing a sustainable portfolio of transport modelling and strategy work and strengthening ITP’s reputation in the UK market. This includes:
- Leading and delivering multimodal transport modelling and strategy projects, using Aimsun as a core tool to support sustainable transport planning, infrastructure programmes and developmentled schemes
- Developing and maintaining strong client relationships, converting these into repeat work and new commissions, and contributing to the growth of a robust portfolio of modelling and strategy projects
- Providing technical, commercial and people leadership, managing and mentoring early and midcareer colleagues and supporting the development of a highperforming transport modelling team
- Taking ownership of project delivery, including commercial management, leading proposals and contributing to complex bids, business cases and investment appraisals
- Driving innovation in transport modelling, data and visualisation, and actively contributing to thought leadership, publications, presentations and industry engagement across the UK and Haskoning’s international network
What we expect from you
You are a highly experienced transport modelling professional with a strong technical foundation and the confidence to lead projects, people and client relationships. You combine analytical rigour with strategic insight and are motivated to help grow teams, services and markets. We would anticipate your bringing:
- A proven track record of delivering sustainable, multimodal transport projects using Aimsun, including advanced model development, calibration, validation, scenario testing and reporting
- Experience managing small to mediumsized projects to scope and budget, with ownership of significant components of larger, multidisciplinary commissions
- Strong understanding and proportionate, practical application of DfT WebTAG in UK transport modelling, appraisal and optioneering contexts
- Excellent client communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience leading proposals, supporting business development and building longterm client relationships
- A relevant undergraduate degree (or higher) in transport planning, engineering or a related discipline, with strong reportwriting and visual presentation skills and a desire to build your professional profile
