Arm, a global leader in semiconductor and computing technologies, is seeking a highly skilled Staff Linux Release Automation Engineer to join its software integration and release team in Cambridge, UK. This is a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge Arm hardware designed for AI applications, contributing to the deployment of advanced software ecosystems built around Arm’s architecture.

As part of a collaborative, innovation-driven environment, you will be responsible for designing and maintaining automated release workflows, improving CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring smooth and efficient delivery of complex Linux-based software systems. Your work will directly impact the successful deployment of Arm technologies across a variety of AI and embedded computing markets.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain release strategies for Linux-based firmware, drivers, and application stacks, including branching and maintenance workflows.

  • Enhance and monitor CI/CD processes, ensuring efficient integration, testing, and release of software builds.

  • Manage defect tracking and release logs, ensuring accuracy and compliance across release cycles.

  • Lead complex automation and integration tasks, collaborating closely with cross-functional software and hardware teams.

  • Continuously optimize release automation frameworks for performance, reliability, and scalability.


Required Skills and Experience

  • Solid understanding of embedded Linux-based software stacks, including kernel, drivers, and user-space applications.

  • Proven expertise in automating build, test, and release workflows, ideally using GitLab CI or similar systems.

  • Strong experience with source control management (Git) and the ability to define effective branching strategies.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to lead projects and collaborate across distributed teams.


Preferred / “Nice to Have” Skills

  • Experience with Docker containers, Jira, and other DevOps tools.

  • Familiarity with software supply chain compliance, including open-source license management and SBOMs (Software Bill of Materials).

  • Understanding of modern CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation in large-scale environments.
