Dash Future Curator

Description:

Newlyn Art Gallery & The Exchange is seeking an early-career curator with lived experience of disability to join their team as part of The Future Curators Programme, a residency for disabled curators within visual arts institutions. The role is designed to develop a range of skills and experiences in a real-world gallery context. The successful applicant will work alongside the programme team to support the development of new programmes across both gallery sites and in other settings.

The organisation is committed to addressing the under-representation of disabled people in gallery programming and aims to create an inclusive environment where diverse perspectives are valued. Candidates are expected to bring passion for contemporary art, strong communication skills, project management ability, creative problem-solving, and a positive attitude. Familiarity with the West Cornwall community is desirable, and applicants are expected to reside in Cornwall.

The role offers flexibility in working hours, which can be arranged as 0.4 FTE (approx. 2 days per week) or as 1 day per week over a longer period. Applicants are supported with an access budget to ensure a positive application and interview process.
