Data Scientist – Applied AI (Commercial Insurance)

London 

Our client is a fast-growing applied AI startup who are transforming decision-making in the commercial insurance market. Their flagship platform uses AI to turn messy claim documents into actionable insights, helping insurers and TPAs improve claims accuracy, detect fraud, and optimise processes.

They’re looking for an experienced Data Scientist who wants to build, not theorise. This is hands-on, product-focused work at the intersection of AI, insurance, and real-world operational decision-making.

The Role

You’ll work across:

Product development – making AI systems smarter, faster, and more reliable

Client delivery – adapting the platform to real insurance workflows

You’ll design prompt-driven AI pipelines, validate outputs against unstructured claim documents, and ship improvements quickly across multiple clients. Excellent written English is essential.

This is not a narrow ML role. It’s about judgment, execution, and speed.

Who We’re Looking For

• Strong practical Data Scientist experience with Gen AI tools to code etc.
• Must have commercial insurance (claims) and ideally some start up experience.
• Python expertise
• Comfortable with Git, SQL (Postgres), and cloud environments (Azure a plus)
• Experience working with LLMs, prompts, or AI-assisted workflows
