Description:
A high-tech manufacturing organization undergoing a strategic transformation from low-volume manual production to high-volume automated manufacturing is seeking a Director of Operations to lead and scale its operational functions across the UK.
This senior leadership role will be responsible for ensuring that all core operational functions—engineering, production, quality, commercial, facilities, IT, and procurement—are aligned with the company’s growth goals. The ideal candidate will bring extensive multi-site operational leadership experience and a strong background in scaling manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee operational functions across multiple UK sites.
Drive transformation from manual to automated, high-volume production processes.
Align engineering, production, quality, and commercial areas with organizational growth strategy.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and infrastructure requirements.
Manage facilities, IT systems, procurement, and compliance initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional and international teams to achieve business objectives.
Travel regularly to UK and international sites as required.
Candidate Requirements:
Degree (or equivalent experience) in Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Proven track record of scaling operational functions within businesses of £50M+ size.
Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
Experience in high-tech or advanced manufacturing environments.
Familiarity with safety regulations, quality control, and infrastructure management.
Willingness to undergo security clearance (proof of right to work, identity, and criminal background checks).
