Engineering Team Leader

Description:

Arla Foods is seeking a skilled and driven Engineering Team Leader to lead the engineering team at its Lockerbie Dairy site. This role offers the opportunity to work in a highly automated facility undergoing a £39 million investment for major upgrades. The successful candidate will oversee the Anaerobic Digestion plant operations, driving operational excellence, continuous improvement, and ensuring safe working conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, coach, and develop a multiskilled engineering team to ensure optimal performance and adherence to safety standards.

• Plan, manage, and execute maintenance activities to enhance equipment reliability in line with Arla’s maintenance strategy.

• Drive a strong people agenda by developing team capabilities, fostering talent, and maintaining a robust pipeline of skilled professionals.

• Manage KPI delivery, ensuring operational targets are achieved efficiently.

• Lead fault-finding processes and prioritize resources in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

• Ensure compliance with all statutory, company, and safety requirements.

• Apply Lean principles to continuously improve departmental performance and operational efficiency.

• Oversee resource allocation, work planning, and employee scheduling.

Requirements:

• Demonstrated leadership and motivational skills with expertise in team building and upskilling.

• In-depth knowledge of statutory regulations, contractor control, and budget management.

• Strong understanding of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) programs, SAP PM, and proficiency with Office 365.

• Ambition, drive, and a proactive approach to operational excellence.

• Experience in mechanical and electrical engineering, preferably within industrial environments handling ETP or AD plants.
