Sundowner Holidays is seeking an Experienced Travel Consultant who is passionate about designing unique and memorable holidays to Africa, Asia, or Latin America. This full-time hybrid role is based in Shoreham-by-Sea and is ideal for individuals who bring both expertise and enthusiasm for tailor-made travel.

At Sundowner Holidays, we focus on independent boutique hotels and luxury hideaways, believing that genuine travel memories stem from authentic experiences – from sharing stories around a campfire to soaking in a rainforest sunset. Our consultants, or "Holiday Designers", are expected to bring these values to life for each client while surpassing their expectations at every stage of their journey.

Key Responsibilities:

• Craft detailed, tailor-made holiday itineraries for destinations across Africa, Asia, or Latin America

• Provide exceptional client service to ensure repeat business and referrals

• Collaborate with team members and suppliers to source the best travel experiences

• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients via phone and email

• Manage workload independently while meeting deadlines and service benchmarks

Must-Have Experience & Skills:

• Prior experience working as a travel consultant in tailor-made travel

• Experience handling complex travel itineraries

• Strong written and verbal communication, with excellent telephone manners

• Attention to detail and solid numerical literacy

• Highly organized, with a self-managed, proactive work ethic

• A genuine passion for travel and a positive, can-do attitude

Preferred Experience & Skills:

• Strong geographic knowledge (destinations, airports, landmarks)

• Client service or sales experience

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

Salary & Benefits:

• Competitive base salary with uncapped commission

• OTE (On-Target Earnings): £40000–£55000/year

• Annual Leave: 25 days + bank holidays + birthday off + optional volunteering day + additional leave for long-term employees

• Regular fam trips (approx. 10 days/year) to explore destinations

• Flexible working hours: options between 09:00–17:30, 08:00–16:30, or 10:00–18:30

• One Saturday every 6 weeks, followed by a Friday off

• 6 weeks of Out-of-Hours phone duty annually

Work Environment:

• Modern office located in central Shoreham-by-Sea (5 mins to rail & bus links)

• Hybrid work available – new hires must spend at least 3 days per week in-office during the first 2 months

• Applicants should live within 1-hour commute to the office
