Description:
We’re looking for a Freelance Data Centre Supervisor to oversee day-to-day operations within a critical environment, leading a team on-site, and ensuring all infrastructure (power, cooling, and associated systems) is running efficiently and safely.
⚡ Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day operations of the data centre, ensuring uptime and reliability of critical infrastructure
- Lead and manage on-site technicians/engineers, including shift coordination where applicable
- Oversee maintenance and operation of key systems including UPS, HVAC, generators, and power distribution
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety and compliance standards
- Manage incident response, troubleshooting, and escalation within a critical environment
- Support commissioning and handover activities for the new build site
- Monitor performance of systems using BMS/DCIM tools and drive continuous improvement
- Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders
- Maintain accurate documentation, logs, and reporting
- Drive best practices and contribute to the successful stand-up of the new facility
✅ Requirements
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a relevant engineering / critical environment role
- At least 3 years’ experience within a data centre environment
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity
- Strong understanding of critical infrastructure (UPS, HVAC, cooling, generators, electrical systems)
- Experience working in live/critical environments with strict SLA uptime requirements
- Knowledge of health & safety standards and compliance within data centres
- Familiarity with BMS/DCIM systems is highly desirable
- Strong problem-solving and incident management skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
