Pegasus Group is inviting applications for its 2026 Graduate Training Scheme, offering an exceptional opportunity to launch your career as a Graduate Heritage Consultant. Based in our Edinburgh office, you’ll work as part of a dynamic and collaborative Heritage Team, gaining valuable hands-on experience across a diverse range of heritage, conservation, and planning projects.
This graduate role provides the perfect platform for passionate individuals eager to contribute to the understanding, protection, and management of the historic environment. You’ll engage in meaningful work that combines research, assessment, and consultancy while being mentored by industry experts who will guide you through your professional development journey.
Support the preparation of heritage assessments, appraisals, and reports relating to the historic built environment.
Conduct research and analysis into historic buildings, archaeological potential, and setting considerations.
Assist in the development of strategies for conserving and enhancing historic assets.
Work collaboratively with planners, architects, archaeologists, and local authorities to provide high-quality consultancy advice.
Contribute to planning applications, environmental assessments, and multidisciplinary project work.
Engage in the company’s Graduate Training Scheme, receiving mentorship and structured professional development.
Educational Qualification:
Undergraduate or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Built Heritage, Building Conservation, Archaeology, Architecture, History, or related fields.
Skills and Attributes:
Logical and analytical approach with excellent attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to use initiative and think creatively when problem-solving.
Understanding of the UK planning system, British history, and archaeology.
Previous work experience or internship in a heritage-related role is advantageous but not essential.
As a Graduate Heritage Consultant, you’ll gain hands-on experience working across a variety of sectors, from residential and commercial developments to infrastructure and renewable energy projects. Your work will directly contribute to the preservation and appreciation of the UK’s historic environment, helping clients achieve development goals responsibly and sustainably.
