Home Risk Selection Senior Analyst

Description:

Allianz UK, one of the world’s most trusted insurance brands, is seeking a Home Risk Selection Senior Analyst to join their newly established Home Risk Selection team within the Retail Portfolio Pricing and Underwriting division. This is a hybrid position based out of Leeds, though the role is also open to candidates based in London, Birmingham, or Bournemouth.

This position blends underwriting, pricing, and data analytics, playing a key role in optimizing home and travel insurance product performance. The analyst will collaborate across departments and participate in initiatives to improve underwriting accuracy, claims prediction models, and technical cost analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and evolve underwriting rules and footprint for home and travel products

• Analyze opportunities to expand or contract product eligibility

• Monitor quote rates and key risk indicators (KRIs)

• Draft and implement changes to underwriting logic using Radar Live

• Conduct comparative analysis between actual vs. expected claims

• Identify and adjust segments where claims credibility is low

• Carry out deep-dives into specific risk niches and adjust technical cost models

• Support the development of underwriting standards and capabilities across the business

Essential Skills and Competencies:

• Expertise in underwriting, pricing, or data analytics/statistics

• Strong commercial judgment and sound risk assessment in complex segments

• Ability to deliver insightful proposals based on claims behavior and emerging trends

• Awareness of industry competition and market dynamics

• Advocates for innovation and continuous improvement

• Proficient in using analytics tools and understanding insurance risk data

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

• Participation in the Global P&C Academy accreditation for underwriting, risk engineering, pricing, and claims
