Investment Operations Director

Description:

MFS is seeking a Director – Investment Operations UK to lead and oversee Operations teams across MFS locations, including offshore operations. This strategic role will also involve providing oversight to the Technology teams in the London office and ensuring that all operational functions are aligned with business objectives.

Main Responsibilities:

• Leadership: Provide strategic leadership and daily oversight for MFS' Operations in London and offshore operations hub.

• Operations Oversight: Lead end-to-end operations workflows, including client account transitions, cash management, reporting, trade support, and settlements.

• Offshoring: Supervise offshoring operations and ensure alignment with MFS standards.

• Escalation: Serve as the primary escalation point for operational issues within the London office and liaise with global teams to resolve critical matters.

• Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements for operations in the London office.

• Technology & Risk: Identify opportunities to leverage technology for process improvement and mitigate risks.

• Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with key external stakeholders such as custodians and brokers and collaborate with investment, trading, and client services teams.

• Continuous Improvement: Drive operational excellence by enhancing processes and reducing risks.

What We Are Looking For:

• Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent work experience.

• Experience: Substantial experience in Investment Management, with experience in offshore operations models, and in dealing with external stakeholders.

• Skills: Strong leadership, communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

• Knowledge: Strong technical background in operations, experience across asset classes (especially fixed income and derivatives), and knowledge of retail and institutional clients.

• Other: Ability to work in a matrix structure and interact with individuals at all levels.
