It Network Engineer

 

Description:

This is a full-time, on-site role for an IT Network Engineer located in the CloudTech24 Woking HQ. The IT Network Engineer will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing network infrastructure to ensure seamless operations. Daily tasks include network configuration, troubleshooting issues, and enhancing network security protocols. The candidate will also work closely with the IT team to provide technical support, manage system upgrades, and ensure the organization’s IT environment maintains optimal performance and security.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, maintain, and support client network environments including switches, firewalls, routers, VPNs, and wireless solutions.
  • Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve issues to maintain uptime and performance SLAs.
  • Implement changes, upgrades, and configuration improvements in line with best practices and change management processes.
  • Act as an escalation point for network-related incidents and problem resolution.
  • Design and deploy secure, scalable, and reliable network solutions for client environments.
  • Participate in infrastructure and migration projects involving LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, and cloud connectivity.
  • Work with vendors and internal teams to ensure solutions align with business and security requirements.
  • Configure and manage security appliances (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs) to ensure network integrity.
  • Maintain compliance with security standards and client contractual requirements.
  • Support cybersecurity initiatives and coordinate with security teams on threat mitigation and response.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of network designs, configurations, and procedures.
  • Contribute to standardisation of configurations and network management processes.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, optimisation, and service improvement.

 

Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in Network Administration and Network Engineering
  • Proficiency in implementing and managing Network Security solutions
  • Experience in advanced Troubleshooting and problem-solving for connectivity and system performance issues
  • Hands-on experience with key vendor technologies (e.g., Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Ubiquiti, Meraki, or similar).
  • In-depth knowledge of Information Technology and IT systems
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with teams
  • A commitment to staying updated with technological advancements in network engineering and security
  • Relevant certifications such as Network+, CCNA, CCNP, or vendor specific equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred
