Junior Designer

A leading UK high street fashion supplier is seeking a Junior Designer for their Girls Outwear & Leisurewear department. The Junior Designer will be responsible for assisting in the design and development of commercial and trend-led girls' outerwear and leisurewear ranges. Key duties include creating CADs, producing tech packs, supporting internal and overseas teams, and conducting market and trend research.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the design and development of girls' outerwear and leisurewear collections.

• Create CADs and presentation boards for internal use and buyer meetings.

• Produce detailed tech packs to ensure accurate sample development with overseas teams.

• Coordinate with internal teams and overseas offices (especially Shanghai) for design and production.

• Maintain sample, fabric, and trim libraries to ensure accuracy and organization.

• Conduct market and trend research and compile seasonal trend packs and competitive shop reports.

• Assist with admin tasks such as sample management and updating design files.

• Support the senior designer in day-to-day activities.

• Develop knowledge of new software, such as CLO 3D, for innovation in 3D design and visualisation.

Candidate Requirements:

• Previous experience in girlswear design, ideally within outerwear or leisurewear categories.

• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop; familiarity with Excel and CLO 3D is a plus.

• Ability to interpret trends and translate them into commercially viable product ranges.

• Excellent time management and organisational skills, able to adapt to a fast-paced environment.

• A team-oriented mindset, with strong communication skills and a proactive attitude.
