Lead Designer

Ascendion is seeking a visionary Lead UX Designer to take charge of creative innovation across its client projects. This role is perfect for an experienced design professional with a strong background in visual storytelling, user-centered design, and design leadership. The ideal candidate will have a blend of creative brilliance and strategic thinking, capable of transforming complex business needs into immersive and effective design solutions.

In this role, the Lead Designer will:

• Lead and inspire cross-functional design teams, ensuring high-quality outcomes in visual experience from concept through to execution.

• Develop comprehensive design systems integrating typography, color, animation, and interaction elements that align with brand guidelines and user needs.

• Mentor and uplift junior designers through collaborative leadership, constructive critique, and targeted skill development.

• Collaborate closely with UX designers and strategists to ensure visual integrity matches functional robustness.

• Navigate challenging project environments, balancing creativity with business objectives while upholding top-tier quality.

• Present and justify creative decisions to a variety of stakeholders, including executives and client leads.

Key Requirements:

• At least 8 years of experience in visual design with a strong portfolio demonstrating digital work across platforms.

• Proven leadership in mentoring and guiding creative teams.

• Deep understanding of UX principles, interaction design, and user-centered design methodology.

• Excellent communication skills with ability to present to senior-level stakeholders.

• Growth mindset and dedication to continuous learning.

Bonus Skills (Preferred):

• Mobile-first product design and experience in B2C environments.

• Familiarity with fintech or banking domains and understanding of compliance and accessibility.

• Motion design, animation, and knowledge of emerging design technologies.

• Experience in managing multi-industry or high-stakes client projects.

• Direct interaction with C-level executives or client-side leadership.
