Lead Technician Education & Training

Description:

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to take on a 9-month secondment as Lead Technician for Education & Training within the Pharmacy Dispensary service. This cross-campus role provides an opportunity to develop leadership and training skills while supporting the delivery of a high-quality Pharmacy service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead training, assessments, and validation programs for Pharmacy Dispensary staff

• Ensure staff inductions and training programs are in place and maintained

• Support day-to-day management and coordination of Pharmacy Dispensary operations

• Participate in dispensing and accuracy checking, including oral cytotoxics and controlled drugs

• Monitor service KPIs to ensure quality, efficiency, and effectiveness

• Implement service improvements and changes through projects

• Conduct annual performance reviews and support staff development objectives

• Assist in managing staff absence according to Trust policies

• Participate in recruitment and selection for Pharmacy Dispensary staff

The role involves working closely with the Chief Technician and other Lead Technicians to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality pharmacy operations. This is an opportunity to contribute to innovative service redesign, including potential robotics and automation implementation.
