Description:
Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to take on a 9-month secondment as Lead Technician for Education & Training within the Pharmacy Dispensary service. This cross-campus role provides an opportunity to develop leadership and training skills while supporting the delivery of a high-quality Pharmacy service.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead training, assessments, and validation programs for Pharmacy Dispensary staff
Ensure staff inductions and training programs are in place and maintained
Support day-to-day management and coordination of Pharmacy Dispensary operations
Participate in dispensing and accuracy checking, including oral cytotoxics and controlled drugs
Monitor service KPIs to ensure quality, efficiency, and effectiveness
Implement service improvements and changes through projects
Conduct annual performance reviews and support staff development objectives
Assist in managing staff absence according to Trust policies
Participate in recruitment and selection for Pharmacy Dispensary staff
The role involves working closely with the Chief Technician and other Lead Technicians to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality pharmacy operations. This is an opportunity to contribute to innovative service redesign, including potential robotics and automation implementation.
