Description:
The University of Edinburgh’s School of Economics is inviting applications for the position of Lecturer to join its esteemed faculty. The successful candidate will contribute to both research and teaching, playing an integral role in the advancement of the School’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
The ideal candidate will specialize in macroeconomics or applied economics, but applications from all fields are welcome, especially those that complement existing faculty expertise. Candidates are expected to have a PhD in Economics or be near completion, with a strong potential to publish in leading peer-reviewed journals, secure research income, and contribute to knowledge exchange initiatives.
Responsibilities include:
Conducting high-quality research aligned with the School’s objectives.
Delivering engaging teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Supervising students and supporting their academic development.
Participating in administrative and management activities within the School.
Contributing to a collegial and research-driven academic environment.

PhD in Economics (or within six months of completion).
Proven or emerging record of high-quality research publications.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
