Maintenance And Compliance Lead

Description:

West Berkshire Council is seeking a dedicated Peripatetic Maintenance and Compliance Lead to support the maintenance and compliance functions of Birchwood Care Home and other registered care services across the region. Reporting to the Registered Manager, this role offers a meaningful opportunity to ensure the safe, compliant, and effective operation of care facilities, directly contributing to the quality of life of service users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure effective upkeep, repair, and maintenance of care home facilities through regular inspections and proactive management.

• Lead on compliance with legislation, regulatory standards, and health & safety requirements within care environments.

• Conduct audits, compliance checks, and assessments to identify gaps and implement corrective measures.

• Provide expert advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on all aspects of compliance and maintenance.

• Prepare reports, escalate significant risks, and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.

• Travel between multiple sites as required (full driving licence and access to a vehicle essential).

Requirements:

• Proven track record in maintenance and compliance roles, ideally in care or residential services.

• Strong understanding of legislation and compliance standards relevant to care provision.

• Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.

• Proactive, detail-oriented, and solutions-driven approach.
