Description:

Elekta, a global leader in cancer treatment solutions, is seeking a Manufacturing Systems Test Engineer to join their operations in Crawley, UK. This role plays a crucial part in testing and commissioning linear accelerators, ensuring full compliance with Elekta's rigorous quality and safety standards. The position follows a shift pattern of 4 days on and 4 days off, including weekends.

In this hands-on role, you will create and maintain machine documentation, perform complex system tests, manage non-conforming materials, and uphold a clean and safe working environment. The role also involves final system sign-off, radiation safety assessments (if qualified), and collaboration with production, service, and other departments.

You will engage in department-wide activities including training, Lean initiatives, audits, equipment calibration, and internal project participation. There may also be opportunities to support international assignments and represent the department in cross-functional meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform functional testing and commissioning of linear accelerators

  • Maintain test documentation and follow released procedures

  • Ensure non-conforming material is properly managed and documented

  • Monitor radiation levels and certify safety of used components (if RPS certified)

  • Participate in interlock checks, Lean reviews, equipment calibration, and training

  • Support cross-departmental operations as directed

  • Final sign-off in the Manufacturing Execution System (MES)

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the Production Test Schedule (PTS)

  • Raise and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Concessions

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • HNC/OND or Degree in Electronics, Physics, or related field

  • Strong fault-finding and system troubleshooting skills

  • Proficiency with complex electronic and mechanical systems

  • Familiarity with control systems, high voltage, vacuum systems, or radiation equipment

  • Ability to understand and operate detailed test schedules and quality procedures

Desirable:

  • Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) certification

  • Experience with linear accelerators or similar high-end medical equipment
