Material Planner

 

Description:

Mirus is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Material Planner to join its growing supply chain team in Hingham, Norfolk. In this pivotal role, you will support production by managing materials procurement, inventory, and supplier performance, while ensuring timely delivery of components essential to the business.

You will work closely with suppliers across Asia, Europe, and the UK, proactively identifying and mitigating supply risks. Using the ERP/MRP system, you will procure raw materials efficiently, create and manage schedules, and maintain accurate system data to improve OTIF (On Time in Full) performance. The role also includes contributing to dynamic stock control processes that align with internal production needs without overstocking.

This position requires a blend of strong administrative skills, supplier engagement, and data-driven decision-making to help Mirus deliver excellence in its supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procure raw materials through the ERP/MRP system, balancing efficiency with risk mitigation and cost control

  • Work with global supply chains to reduce total supply costs

  • Raise and manage supply schedules and delivery timelines

  • Maintain ERP data integrity and ensure on-time deliveries

  • Manage inventory levels and support efficient stock control processes

  • Identify and manage supplier capacity and associated risks

  • Collaborate with internal teams across supply chain, production, and operations

  • Communicate assertively and independently with suppliers to resolve issues

  • Contribute to planning meetings and support the wider supply chain team in achieving objectives

Requirements:

  • A-levels or equivalent academic background

  • Prior experience in supply chain or logistics within a manufacturing or engineering setting

  • Strong ERP/MRP knowledge and system usage

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamworking skills

  • Attention to detail and the ability to make data-driven decisions

Desirable Qualifications/Experience:

  • CIPS or equivalent professional qualification

  • Experience in the aerospace or automotive industry

  • Familiarity with Incoterms and logistics

  • Microsoft Dynamics BC ERP system knowledge
