Retail Store Manager

Description:

Cancer Research UK (CRUK), one of the UK’s leading charities dedicated to beating cancer, is currently seeking a dynamic and inspiring Retail Store Manager to lead their store in Broadstairs. This is a full-time, permanent role offering a competitive salary and a generous benefits package.

As a Store Manager, you will take ownership of your store's performance, guiding your team of paid staff and volunteers to achieve sales and fundraising goals. You will lead by example, foster strong community engagement, and ensure your store reflects the charity’s values while maintaining high retail standards.

This role is ideal for individuals with experience in retail management, who are passionate about making a difference and have a strong sense of commercial and customer service awareness. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, inspire, and manage a diverse team of staff and volunteers

• Oversee all aspects of the store’s operations including merchandising, stock, layout, income, and sales

• Drive fundraising efforts and customer engagement through events and community involvement

• Ensure compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, HR, and operational policies

• Provide excellent supporter and customer service at all times

• Maintain high shop standards, and complete administrative tasks efficiently

• Engage with the local community to promote CRUK's mission and brand

Candidate Requirements:

• Proven experience in team leadership and motivation

• Strong organisational and multitasking skills in a busy retail environment

• Commercial acumen and ability to meet sales/fundraising targets

• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

• Flexible and adaptable approach to work

• Understanding of product value and pricing

• Willingness to undergo a basic DBS check

• Must be 18+ and legally eligible to work in the UK
