The role of Senior Information Assurance Advisor sits within the Alliance Information Management Department ensuring the security, confidentiality, integrity and availability of data held on Force systems as well as physical assets.

This role is required to undertake the second line of decision making in the determination of data breach incidents, utilising the Incident Management process and is responsible for the ensuring appropriate risk assessments, investigations and mitigating actions are undertaken to reduce ongoing risk to both organisations.

Some of the principal responsibilities of the role are to:

·Act as a gatekeeper for the for all incoming work to the Alliance Information Assurance Team. Ensure suitable triage and prioritisation of security incidents, project demand, software accreditation and adhoc requests received from the organisation.

·Act as the first point of escalation for the Alliance Information Assurance Team, providing support the IA Advisors when dealing with complex cases.

·Identify trends around breaches, incidents, emerging technology, physical security issues or projects and implement suitable recommendations and processes to deliver improvements.

·Provide support to new members of the team in achieving competence in the role as well as managing the administration of team resources including staffing thresholds, co-ordinating and authorising leave requests and ensuring there is suitable resource to manage demand.

·Assist the Alliance Information Security Manager to influence and promote the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data and improve the organisational security posture.

In some posts this might include the ad-hoc provision of guidance and informal training of new colleagues.
